Friends of the Hospital Gala

With each passing year, the Friends of the Hospital Galas grow more successful. In 2011, Gala XIV raised record proceeds of $538,000. The 33 members of the volunteer steering committee contributed over 2,000 hours and 148 additional volunteers donated 740 hours of their time to help prepare for the event. Proceeds from Gala XIV are helping bring true a long-time dream of Hill Country Memorial -- transitioning its semi-private rooms to single-patient rooms.      

Gala XV will benefit the purchase of a new CT Scanner for Hill Country Memorial. It’s been called “the scanner that has it all” – the computerized tomography scanner was just approved by the FDA last year. It significantly lowers the patient radiation dose all while offering faster speed and higher resolution than ever before possible in one machine. The cost of the scanner, including staff training and minor renovations is $1.3 million.
