Largest volunteer effort in the Hill Country

Hill Country Memorial Health System is the area's greatest volunteer effort. Volunteers serve without pay or special benefits in many areas of the system including on the governing board that holds the responsibility for overseeing all facets of the system. These duties include strategic planning, finances, employee benefits and risk management.

Volunteers also make up the HCMH Foundation Board.

Hill Country Memorial is proud of the volunteers who work in various capacities throughout the health system. These individuals give countless hours of service and fill a true need within our facility.

About the HCMH Auxiliary

The 150-member HCMH Auxiliary was formed before the hospital was even built, and today, Auxiliary members serve in nearly every area of the hospital including the main entrance lobby, the outpatient entrance lobby and the Perry-Feller Professional Building lobby. They also serve in surgical and OB waiting rooms, outpatient surgery, central nursing station, emergency department, medical records, marketing, Passport 55 office, lab and special projects.

Other activities include:
>	Operating the Whimsies Gift Shop in the main lobby
>	Sponsoring fund-raisers that help buy equipment and comfort-related items for patients
>	Driving visitors from the parking lot to the hospital's front door in the locally famous Turtle Trolley
>	Making a patient's hospital stay comfortable with simple services such as providing surgical pillows and teddy bears for children. Volunteers have also purchased or accepted as donations most of the artwork you see in the hospital corridors.
>	Sponsoring scholarships each year for persons wanting to continue their education in a medical field

The HCMH Auxiliary maintains a memorial fund and accepts donations, all of which are tax deductible as provided by law.
